St. Cloud State’s engineering management programs were recently recognized for their excellence at the 2024 American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) International Annual Conference.
The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) and Executive Master of Engineering Management (EMEM) programs were honored with the Founder’s Award, given to the top global engineering management program.
“This award recognizes our exemplary academic leadership and commitment to excellence in engineering management education,” said Dr. Hiral Shah, Director of Engineering Management (EM) programs at SCSU.
Program Faculty Dr. Gary Nierengarten and Dr. Shah accepted the award from ASEM President Ann Marie Uliano at the ASEM International Annual Conference in Virginia earlier this month.
The Founder’s Award recognizes excellence in graduate program delivery and is judged on contributions to graduate engineering management education and practice, along with recommendations from those outside of the institution, which include alumni, employers and advisory boards.
“This is a significant achievement for our programs,” said Dr. Ben Baliga, former EM Program Director.
SCSU’s MEM and EMEM programs have now been preparing engineers wanting to pursue technical leadership roles for over 20 years. It is one of only 10 master’s programs in engineering management in the United States certified by the ASEM.
