ST. CLOUD LIVE — St. Cloud State University’s Center for International Disability Advocacy and Diplomacy (CIDAD) partnered with Journeyable to make the hospitality and tourism industries accessible for people with disabilities.

CIDAD is now an exclusive education partner of Journeyable, a travel-oriented network that helps connect people with disabilities with more travel opportunities and make tourism more accessible, according to an SCSU media release. The website will now only feature training programs on Access to All , CIDAD’s educational platform.

KNSI — St. Cloud State University’s 24th president is stepping away at the end of the academic year.

Dr. Robbyn Wacker’s last day is June 30th, which marks the end of her current contract. Wacker came to St. Cloud in 2018 after 20 years at the University of Northern Colorado and was the first woman to lead SCSU when she started in 2018.

ST. CLOUD LIVE — St. Cloud State University has received a $49,998 grant to partner with Park Industries for a skills development program.

The grant was awarded from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), and is among $1.4 million in grants to six colleges for employer workforce development projects, according to a news release.

ST. CLOUD LIVE — St. Cloud State University has been awarded a $1.88 million grant from the National Science Foundation for the Resource Collaborative for Immersive Technologies (RECITE) initiative, according to a news release from the university.

The three-year Advanced Technological Education project will support educators as they integrate “Extended Reality” (XR) technologies, such as augmented and virtual reality, into the classroom.

KNSI — Just in time for Veteran’s Day, the St. Cloud State University Library has made over 100 oral histories of World War II straight from those who lived through it available online.

University Archives digitized 112 oral histories from local veterans, both men, and women, that include audio with a transcript, a short biographical sketch, and a written summary of the interview. Nearly all of the interviews were done in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and those veterans would go on to either attend SCSU or be employed by the school. University Archives is St. Cloud State University’s record of university history and publications.

WJON — St. Cloud State University students raised more than $11,000 in donations to fight homelessness.

Social Work and Gerontology students were on hand Tuesday during “Project Homeless Connect” at the River’s Edge Convention Center with gift bags of shampoo, soap, toys for children, and gift cards bought with the donations from their GoFundMe page, a silent auction, and t-shirt sales.
