WJON — Officials at the Herberger School of Business at St. Cloud State University estimate they have over 1400 undergraduates enrolled, with over 370 students taking advantage of the new online MBA program offered through the university.
Dean Katherina Pattit says the increase in students can be attributed to the quality, and cost-effectiveness, of the program.
KNSI — St. Cloud State University students headed to the deserts of New Mexico this weekend as part of the nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project.
Assistant Professor Rachel Humphrey spoke with KNSI about what they were trying to accomplish. “One of the things that NASA and the space grant is especially interested in looking at, and what the students will be analyzing after all the data has been compiled, is whether the presence of an eclipse can generate these gravity waves, specifically in the stratosphere.”

WJON — St. Cloud State University is reporting the first increase in enrollment since 2015.
Officials at SCSU reported the fall enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year at 10,134 students, a 7.7% increase in the full-time enrollment of both undergraduate and graduate students.
Beginning in fall 2024, the North Star Promise Scholarship program will provide eligible Minnesota residents a tuition-free path to achieve their higher education goals at eligible institutions, including St. Cloud State University. The North Star Promise Scholarship program covers the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants and tuition waivers have been applied.
KNSI — The Herberger Business School at St. Cloud State University has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Innovation in Business Education Award.
The accolade highlights the school’s dedication to pioneering approaches for its Masters in Business Administration program. The campus was honored by the MidAmerican Business Dean’s Association.
KNSI — St. Cloud State University has been named by the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation, in partnership with the Department of Defense’s Manufacturing Capability Expansion and Investment Prioritization office, as one of two schools in the state chosen as a new machine tool workforce development center via the America’s Cutting Edge, or ACE, program.
WJON — St. Cloud State University President Dr. Robbyn Wacker says the University is always looking at ways to adjust what they do to get students excited and engaged in what they are doing. Wacker and SCSU’s Dr. Jennifer Cavalli joined Jay Caldwell on WJON.
Cavalli is leading the Honors College program at SCSU. She explains that those involved in Honors College at St. Cloud State are bold thinkers and those willing to take risks. The program helps students learn more about the world, the community and themselves. Cavalli says based on how they define Honors at St. Cloud State allows it to be for everyone.
In September, the Minnesota Jobs Skills Partnership (MJSP), a division of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), held their annual retreat at the SCSU Welcome Center.
MJSP works with businesses, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations to train or retrain workers, expand work opportunities and keep high-quality jobs in the state.
