St. Cloud State University and SCSU’s Department of Sports Facilities and Campus Recreation invites Huskies and supporters near and far to take part in the Paws on the Pavement 5K during Homecoming 2023 at SCSU.

Students, teams, organizations, clubs, residence halls, alumni, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to join in one of the most anticipated events during Homecoming on Oct. 7 while showing your Husky pride during a unifying 5K run/walk around SCSU’s campus.

St. Cloud State gearing up for Huskies First Four

St. Cloud State University is gearing up for Huskies First Four to welcome our incoming undergraduate students on Aug. 17-20 with four days of activities to meet new friends, get to know campus and start to explore what life as a Husky is like.

Huskies First Four is a four-day experience that annually serves as a welcome and orientation to new incoming students. It is intended to assist undergraduate students in developing skills and connections during their first few days on campus and throughout the first semester at SCSU.

Director of SCSU Esports receives NACE Hero Award

St. Cloud State University’s Director of Esports has received a national award for his contributions at SCSU and the evolving world of esports.

Chase Neukam, who was named the first Director of Esports at SCSU in February, was honored with the Hero Award from The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) at the 2023 NACE National Convention held July 11-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Former KVSC Station Manager Jo McMullen-Boyer receives lifetime achievement award

A former longtime Station Manager of KVSC, a student-run educational and community-based public radio station licensed to St. Cloud State University, recently received a lifetime achievement award for all she has done for the industry over the years.

Jo McMullen-Boyer, who retired as KVSC Station Manager in April after 31 years in that role, was awarded the lifetime achievement award at the annual Ampers meeting in June.

Patrick Call has been named Executive Director of Residential Life

St. Cloud State University hit the streets to take part in the annual Granite City Days Parade on June 24 in Downtown St. Cloud.

Among the individuals representing St. Cloud State’s float included KVSC, UTVS, St. Cloud State Athletics and the St. Cloud State Dance and Cheer teams. Huskies interacted with fans and community members while handing out prizes and giveaways throughout the parade route.

St. Cloud State hosts 50th annual Lemonade Concert and Art Fair

The Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is one of St. Cloud State University’s best-known campus traditions and marks the opening of the St. Cloud’s Granite City Days community-wide event.

The event returned to campus on June 22 for the 50th annual year of the family-friendly summer event, featuring over 150 vendors spread throughout campus.

Graduate student Linda Hood plays role in passing of new accessibility bill

One of the goals of SCSU graduate student Linda Hood has been getting adult changing tables in public restrooms.

In May, Hood was invited to the state capitol to witness Minnesota Governor Tim Walz sign a new accessibility bill into law mandating all new public buildings to have adult changing tables.

Dr. Heather Brown has been named Director of Women’s Center at SCSU

Dr. Heather Brown has been named the Director of the Women’s Center at St. Cloud State University, effective July 5. Dr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard Divinity School – both focused on women’s studies in religion. She earned a Doctorate

SCSU receives grant awards totaling $266K

Center for Continuing Studies - St. Cloud State University

St. Cloud State University, in partnership with Pinnacle Climate Technologies and Landwehr Construction Inc. (LCI), earned a $50,000 and $216,000 training grant, respectively. These grants were awarded to SCSU from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) recently under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.
