St. Cloud State University has once again earned national recognition for community service efforts conducted by students, faculty and staff.
The university was named to the 2015 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll — the fifth year in a row the university earned the distinction. The university earned honor roll status in both the general and interfaith categories.
The honor roll, launched in 2006, highlights the role colleges and universities play in solving community problems and placing more students on a lifelong path of civic engagement. It recognizes institutions of higher education that support exemplary community service programs and raise the visibility of effective practices in campus community partnerships.
“Part of St. Cloud State’s mission is to teach students that as members of a 21st century global community they must do their part to make their communities a great place to live work and play,” said Interim President Ashish Vaidya. “This recognition shows that our students understand that they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.”
The university is involved in several efforts to serve members of the community and help make their lives better.
