St. Cloud State at Plymouth to serve Twin Cities area

The University will celebrate the opening of St. Cloud State at Plymouth in January and is now in the process of renovating the new site to meet the needs of St. Cloud State graduate and professional development programs. The Plymouth location will position St. Cloud State to continue to foster and build new industry and academic partnerships in the northwest metropolitan area.

“We provide the education and career development opportunities workers in in-demand industries in Minnesota’s workforce are seeking in the Twin Cities region,” said St. Cloud State Interim President Ashish Vaidya. “The opening of St. Cloud State at Plymouth will enhance our ability to advance the 21^st century leaders of Minnesota’s workforce.”

Located near the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and Rockford Road, St. Cloud State at Plymouth will continue to offer convenient access to premier programs in the Twin Cities’ northern suburbs.

St. Cloud State will be transitioning its graduate programs in business administration, engineering management, educational administration, applied clinical research, regulatory affairs and services and medical technology quality from its current Maple Grove location to Plymouth for spring semester 2017. The university has been serving students at the Maple Grove location since 2009.

“Our continued presence and offering of premier graduate and professional education programs in the metro area allows us to attract international students and working professionals seeking higher education at a location that is convenient,” said Latha Ramakrishnan, interim dean of graduate education. “Through our programmatic offerings, we provide skills and workforce development to workers in the Twin Cities area to increase their global competitiveness.”

St. Cloud State at Plymouth includes five classrooms, two of which can serve as professional training rooms, a conference room, breakout rooms, student lounge and additional spaces that will encourage collaboration and enable integration of technology.

Each classroom will include movable tables and chairs to facilitate collaborative learning and a technology station.

The Plymouth site also comes with increased security both indoors and in the parking lot, improved Wi-Fi, a smaller carbon footprint and a more cohesive floor plan.

The site will be available for rental for conferences and other activities.
