Junior mass communications major Kirsten Krull, Rochester, will produce and host highlights for the women’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).
The nation’s leading conference is partnering with Husky Productions (HP) on a first-of-its-kind, weekly highlights show.
Each Monday during the season, Krull will share top goals, saves and plays from the previous weekend in the WCHA.
The WCHA Highlights Show will be available each Monday afternoon on the league’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages and WCHA.com.
The first full weekend of WCHA games is Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Look for an episode Oct. 2.
“We are thrilled to provide our fans with a one-stop shop for WCHA weekly highlights,” said WCHA Vice President and Women’s League Commissioner Katie Million. “Every night, every rink in our league is a platform for amazing women’s college hockey; putting all the action together in a tidy package each Monday showcases our terrific student-athletes and teams.”
Of the last 17 NCAA Division I women’s hockey national champions, 15 were teams from the WCHA.
Said Million: “As part of the WCHA’s longstanding mission to help assist developing programs in every sense, we are proud to partner with the excellent staff and students at St. Cloud State University and Husky Productions for this project.”
