MORRISON COUNTY RECORD — “While technically God is who called me, it was my adopted Grandma Ruby who planted the seed. Grandma Ruby would always have some Tang and a Nut Goodie bar waiting for me after elementary school. She was the first person in my life (age 13) to tell me that I would make a ‘great minister.’” Like any 13-year-old, Tony Romaine ’12 ignored the mention of it, but the seed had been planted,” he said.
And while Romaine journeyed through a bachelor of arts in political science at Winona State University, a master of science in history at St. Cloud State University, a master of arts in theology at St. John’s University School of Theology/Seminary and a master of divinity degree at United Theological Seminary, and many jobs along the way, he was continually being formed and shaped and redirected toward where he said God was truly calling him.
“I explored many careers, and even different types of ministry from chaplaincy to teaching. However, all along God was waiting for me to be ready to follow the call placed on my heart and to shepherd God’s people,” he said.
Romaine was previously serving First Congregational Church UCC of Staples for almost two years before being called to First United Church in Little Falls.
