Multicultural Student Services kicked off the first event of its year-long conversations in the MSS ConnectED Series Sept. 14 with a presentation by Dr. Christopher Lehman.
This series is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to facilitate conversations during this “new normal.” On Sept. 14 Dr. Christopher Lehman had a candid conversation with the campus community about the murder of George Floyd, police brutality and race discrimination.
“The conversation was very enlightening, to understand how the modern events and police brutality play within the historical context, not just in our society, but here in Minnesota as well,” says senior Tariq Abdul-Quddoos.
Students had the opportunity to attend the event in-person or virtually — with those two options more than 40 students engaged at the first event of the series.
