Dairyland Peach — Upon meeting Lorraine Peschel ’50, one is struck by her unassuming manner and welcoming home. It seems that those who really do the most for our community are usually people of great humility and kindness that belie the continual activity beneath their calm surface which benefits so many of those around them.
Now moving into her 80s, Lorraine continues to serve Sauk Centre in a variety of ways.

Born and raised in Sauk Centre, Peschel attended St. Cloud State University and received a two-year degree in 1950. She said, “In those days following the war, there was a real shortage of teachers,” so she was hired right away to teach second grade in Sauk Rapids.
