St. Cloud State University students had the chance to participate in the first in-person Professional Selling Competition in three years on Dec. 2.
A total of 65 students participated in the Fall 2022 Professional Selling Competition in Centennial Hall. More than 20 firms also attended the Sales Career Fair, allowing students to participate in a Speed Selling Competition to recruiters from each firm.
Winners for the Miller Center Student Art Show were announced Nov. 17 on the first floor of the James W. Miller Learning Resources Center, with Isaiah Okongo taking first prize for his pen and ink drawing of the Granite Exchange Building in downtown St. Cloud.

St. Cloud State University junior Mitch Welker finished 10th in the eNASCAR College iRacing Series Coca-Cola 80 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Nov. 8. Welker’s top-10 finish earned him a $250 share of the race’s $15,000 in total prizes.

St. Cloud State University alumnus Mark Robinson ’08 was named the Broker of the Year at the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors 15th Annual Expo and Awards show on Oct. 26.
St. Cloud State University alumnus and adjunct professor Tim Johnson ’11 ’13 appeared on the popular game show “Wheel of Fortune” on Nov. 7, taking home nearly $40,000 in cash and prizes.
Johnson has taught in the Department of Mass Communications since 2014, and he also works as a Recruitment Marketing Specialist for CentraCare.
The St. Cloud State University Library has a new offering to cater to student parents, recently opening a Student Parent Study Room in the James W. Miller Learning Resources Center. The space supports student parents by allowing them to bring along their child or children while they complete their coursework. The study room is easily accessible and can be scheduled for four-hour blocks up to 28 days in advance.
St. Cloud State University students now have access to a free, comprehensive interview preparation platform called “Big Interview” thanks to a partnership with Capital One. This new addition to the St. Cloud State Career Center’s collection of virtual resources gives students the freedom to practice interview skills from their own devices.
