Three St. Cloud State University students and one faculty member had the unique opportunity of attending the 15th annual Clinton Global Initiative University (GCIU) meetings on March 3-4 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
The meeting annually brings together student leaders and global experts in business, public service and social impact to develop innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
St. Cloud State University’s Collegiate Cyber Defense Team competed in the 2023 Minnesota State Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) state qualifier on Feb. 4 in Alexandria, placing fifth out of 11 teams.
The St. Cloud State Speech & Debate team took home top honors at the 40th Minnesota State Speech & Debate Championship Tournament on Feb. 17-18 held at Minnesota State University-Mankato, with senior El Julius earning the All-State Award based on overall GPA, competitive speech excellence and community service.
St. Cloud State’s Computer Science Club hosted a Global Game Jam site in ISELF on campus in early February to begin brainstorming on game designs. Fourteen participants — “jammers” — gathered with over 39,000 fellow jammers spread across 108 countries.
St. Cloud State sophomore baseball player Ero Wallin recently competed in the 300-mile Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, finishing in eighth place.
Wallin has a family history of training and racing sled dogs. Some of his SCSU teammates made the trip to support him on Jan. 29 in Duluth.
St. Cloud State students were treated to an experience of a lifetime Feb. 9 when United States Vice President Kamala Harris paid a visit to St. Cloud’s New Flyer manufacturing plant. Students Edison Jensen, Elise Kloeppner, James Reichow and students from UTVS were part of the visit, either providing coverage or volunteering at the event.
Most student-athletes leave behind the title of three-sport athlete once they graduate high school and dedicate their time to a single sport in college.
Not St. Cloud State graduate student Cheresa Bouley. She’s anything but ordinary.
Last month Bouley participated in the biathlon in the Winter World University Games in Lake Placid, New York, finishing as the top American in multiple events.
St. Cloud State University students connected and interacted with over 130 of Minnesota’s largest employers on Jan. 27 during the 2023 Diversity Job and Internship Fair spread throughout the first and second floors of Atwood on campus.
St. Cloud State University’s Husky Productions will once again participate in the Hockey Day Minnesota broadcast in 2023.
As part of the Hockey Day Minnesota broadcast schedule, Husky Productions will broadcast the game between St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey and Bemidji State at 1 p.m. on Jan. 28 from the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. The game will be aired on Bally Spots North Extra.
