WJON — St. Cloud State fall enrollment numbers are showing an increase of approximately 100 students and are currently sitting at 10,164 for the 30-day count for fall semester. Interim President Larry Dietz says SCSU has seen enrollment counts stable for the past 4 years. He says enrollment numbers include students who are taking college classes while in high school. Dietz explains the good news is that they are stable, they are working hard and are moving in the right direction.

Star Tribune — Superintendent Laurie Putnam, who has been at the helm of St. Cloud’s increasingly diverse school district since 2022, has been named the 2025 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year.

The honor, recently announced by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators, puts Putnam in play for the national title, as well.

KNSI — Huskies past and present will come together to celebrate the pageantry of Homecoming at St. Cloud State University this weekend.

Saturday is capped off with the second game of a weekend men’s hockey series versus Augustana. SCSU is off to a great start to the season and nationally ranked. The Husky Fest tailgate runs from 1:00 to 4:30 in the parking lot. Make sure to come dressed head to toe in red and black.

WJON — St. Cloud State University is now offering four technology-based boot camps. SCSU has teamed up with Upright Education to offer camps in Software Development, UX/UI Design, Data Analytics, and Digital Marketing.

St. Cloud Live — Mayoral candidates Anderson and Conway met at SCSU’s Ritsche Auditorium for a debate sponsored by St. Cloud LIVE and KVSC Radio. Grace “Gracie J” Jacobson of KVSC Radio and reporter Trent Abrego of St. Cloud LIVE moderated the event and asked the candidates questions submitted by the public.

About 200 people attended the debate in person, and another 200 streamed the debate live online, on video or audio.

KNSI — St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical & Community College have joined the statewide trend with increased enrollment this year. SCSU saw a 1% increase in its headcount, with a student population of just over 10,000.
