St. Cloud State University held its annual Veterans Day Program and Social on Nov. 9 ahead of Veterans Day on Nov. 11 to show appreciation and to recognize our nation’s veterans.

F1rst-Generation Celebration Day is part of an annual, national effort to raise awareness for first-generation college students and their experiences. First-generation students are individuals whose parents did not receive a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

St. Cloud State University’s Department of Mathematics & Statistics and Department of Computer Science & Information Technology jointly hosted their annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Oct. 24 in the Atwood Memorial Center on campus, awarding $66,500 to SCSU students.
This year, a total of 29 students received scholarships, 26 undergraduate and three graduate students. Since 1974, the two departments have awarded nearly 1,400 scholarships totaling nearly $770,000.

A new exhibit “Filled with Scarcity” opens Nov. 6 in the Kiehle Gallery on the St. Cloud State University campus.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 7 and is the first Minnesota solo exhibition by artist Sarah Marshall. Marshall explores the gulf between two experiences in the world — one presented daily to the senses and the other an unseen collection of belief, imagination and memory.
